Dear colleagues,
The first three months of 2011 have gone by, but due to various reasons our newsletter appears only now. We have in it various news,which hopefully,will be interesting.
SREAC has found itself witout financing from UNESCO. Steps have been taken to try to find other sources, such as the COST program. A pre-proposal for a COST action has been submitted and – we are waiting for the outcome.
Through the courtesy of SREAC Chairman Zoran Knezevic, we have received the announcement for a conference and summer school called Let's Face Chaos through Nonlinear Dynamics organized in Maribor (Slovenia), 26 June - 10 July 2011. Our colegues from Bulgaria are organizing a conference to mark the 30th anniversary of Rozen Observatory. The conference will take place in Smolyan (Bulgaria),September 26.-29.,2011. Registration opens on May 1,2011, and the web site is at the address http://30years.nao-rozhen.org/index.html.
Unfortunately, on exactly the same dates, September 26-29., a meeting takes place in Ukraina, at the Nikolaev Observatory. The subject is Astronomical Research: from Near-Earth Space to the Galaxy . The web site of the Observatory is at the address: http://mao.nikolaev.ua/eng/main.html .
Finally, the Hellenic Astronomical Society is organizing its 10th conference in Ioannina, September 5-8, 2011. The program has not yet been announced, More details at the web site http://www.helas.gr/conf/2011/index.php
