The U.S. National Science Foundation is sponsoring a Comet ISON photo contest, which is open through January 15th. The contest is open to any astrophotographer, U.S. or otherwise, and three different categories (camera/tripod; piggyback; and through-the-scope) cater to all levels of expertise and equipment. Top prize in each category is $2500 US. We encourage any of you to submit, and please help us spread the word. The contest Web site is http://www.nsf.gov/news/special_reports/cometchallenge/. We are co-sponsoring this contest with Astronomy and Discover magazines.
