Petnica School of Cosmology

5-11 August, 2013
Petnica Science Center, Petnica, Serbia

Petnica School of Cosmology is an idea which is founded on common practice of Petnica Science center: education of the students by other students! Just as high school students on ordinary Petnica seminars are taught and mentored by undergraduate students, in this shool we aim to provide lectures to the undergrad/master students by older PhDs students and young postdocs. The school is organized by Petnica Science Center and supported by Niš Faculty of Physics.

Aim: The school aims to provide intensive and thorough course on modern cosmology and related disciplines, along with hands-on exercises, discussions and independent work. We feel this is especially important as cosmology is rarely, if at all, taught at universities in the region.

For whom: School is intended for older undergraduate (thrid and fourth year) and master students from Balkans region. All lectures will be given in English, so we also welcome students from anywhere abroad.

By whom: Lectures will be given mostly by PhD students and young postdocs, but also by some senior researchers. We have invited several lecturers from abroad. Here is a preliminary list:

• Milan Bogosavljević (AOB, Belgrade)
• Milan Ćirković (AOB, Belgrade)
• Moustafa Gharamti (University of Edinburgh)
• David Marzocca (SISSA, Trieste)
• Miroslav Mićić (AOB, Belgrade)
